Jogging Routes in Dublin 4

Jogging Routes Nearby Grand Canal Hotel

Do you like to keep up your fitness regime while on holiday or away with work? We are located in such a picturesque area with lots or great places nearby to go for a run or even just for an evening stroll to unwind or see the surrounding areas so we’ve put together some routes for you to use.  You can do them in full if you like to run long distance, do them in sections, or use them as a guide and pick your own route.

Herbert Park

Herbert Park is just up the way from the hotel and it is beautiful. It is perfect to go for a nice walk or a jog. The length of the walking/jogging circuit around Herbert Park is 1,570metres (approx.).

If you are looking for a longer route, the surrounding areas are also suitable and there are some really lovely residential areas in this part of Ballsbridge which you can take in.  The route below around Herbert Park is around 10Km

Sandymount/Ringsend

Sandymount is just a short distance from the hotel and even has a beach. Sandymount strand is a perfect spot to incorporate into your route. Take in the fresh air and the contrast from the usual hustle and bustle of the city.

The route below is a mix of the Ballsbridge area and Sandymount and is is just over 10Km

For a shorter distance run/walk with a view you can take the following route(s) to South Bull Wall in Ringsend.

No matter which direction you turn when you step out from the hotel, there are so many beautiful areas around Grand Canal Hotel. If you're more of a free spirit when it comes to your running/walks and you prefer to just see where the wind takes you rather than following a route, you can't go too wrong around here. There are so many lovely sites to take in including Grand Canal Dock and Merrion Square as well as some areas seen on the maps above.

If the impending colder weather turns you off, don't forget all our guests can enjoy complimentary use of the gym during their stay so there is plenty of ways to keep up your healthy lifestyle.......or kick start it while away from home.

Looking for more information on the local areas or for a map with routes just ask at reception and they will be more than happy to help.
